~ WAYS WE WORK ~
You want a number. You are probably expecting not to get one.
So let me start with what I cannot give you, because everything else on this page depends on it.
I cannot promise you anything. It would be dishonest to promise health to any person, and I am not going to begin our relationship that way. What I can promise is my effort — that I will be fully present in every session, that I will offer you empathy and hold the space you need, and that I will tell you honestly what this work has actually taken.
Because I am not promising you an outcome, I can afford to be specific about the numbers. Here they are.
If you have asked this question before and received “it depends” and nothing else, you already know how unsatisfying that is.
It depends is true. It is also, on its own, an answer that costs the person saying it nothing. It commits them to nothing, and it leaves the door open indefinitely.
Some people arrive here after an experience of therapy that did not go anywhere. I cannot comment on that — I do not know their circumstances, or what the work was aiming at. What I can tell you is how I handle it at my end. I take sessions only when I believe I can help you. If I do not think I can, I will say so on the discovery call, before you have paid me anything.
And if what you are dealing with is a medical condition, please get a proper diagnosis first. Somatic-emotional work sits alongside medical care — it does not replace it, and I would not want you skipping the doctor because you found this page.
What I will say is what this work is designed to do. It is designed to end. The intention from the first session is to reach a point where you no longer need me — where either the symptom has gone, or you understand it well enough to manage it yourself. That is the aim. It is not a guarantee, and I will come back to that at the bottom of this page.
An aim like that requires a number, or at least a range. So here is what actually happens.
You tell me your story in your own words, and I listen — properly, without filling in a form or waiting to give advice. Most people have never been heard this way about the thing they have been carrying. We begin to find the pattern underneath the symptom: when it started, what was happening in your life then, what your body has been holding since.
Some work happens in the first session. But its real job is that we understand each other, and that you decide whether you can trust me. Nothing useful happens until you can.
By now I know your pattern and you know how the work feels. This is where the releasing happens — where the emotional charge held around a specific memory or belief begins to discharge, and where your nervous system starts to respond differently to the thing that used to set it off.
With migraine, this is typically where people first notice something. Not resolution — a change. Fewer, or less severe, or the same trigger not producing the same result.
Early sessions deal with what brought you here. Later ones tend to reach what sits underneath it — the older pattern that the presenting symptom was built on. This is often the part people did not know they were coming for, and it is usually the part that makes the change hold.
Rebuilding rather than releasing. What replaces the old pattern, how you hold a boundary you could not hold before, what you do when the old response tries to return.
“Your session count is not purely a measure of you.”
Most pieces of work that reach a natural end run to between five and nine sessions. In over ten years of practice, I have not needed more than ten — which is why the longest programme is ten.
That is an estimate, not a schedule. It may be fewer. It may be more. What I can tell you is that each session will get everything I have, and that I will tell you honestly what I am seeing as we go.
You will notice the range and the programmes line up. That is not a coincidence. The programmes were built around what the work has actually taken, not the other way round.
Packages booked upfront cost less than the same sessions taken singly. That is deliberate, and it is not really about the money — booking a course of work is a commitment on both sides. You are saying you intend to see it through; I am saying I will hold the space for it.
None of it locks you in. If you finish four sessions and you are done, you are done. If you decide after two that this is not for you, say so and we stop. Some people come once, find what they needed, and I never hear from them again — that is a legitimate outcome, and it is theirs to choose. I would rather you left than stayed out of obligation.
This is the part nobody wants to write down, so I will.
Some of what determines your session count belongs to you:
And some of it belongs to me:
I mention my side of it because it would be dishonest not to. Your session count is not purely a measure of you.
You will know before I tell you, but I will tell you anyway.
The signs are ordinary. The thing that used to happen stops happening, or happens less, or happens and no longer frightens you. You catch yourself handling something that would have flattened you a year ago. The symptom, if it returns, is something you know what to do with.
That is the end state we are working towards — where you no longer need me. Either the symptom has gone, or the condition has become something you can manage yourself. When we reach it, we stop.
And so, back to where this page started. I cannot promise you that outcome. I can promise that I will give you everything I have towards it, and that I will tell you honestly what I see, including if I do not think I can help you.
One thing I would ask in return. Come only if you can commit to it — not to me, to the work. This asks something of you, and half-hearted rarely gets anywhere. If you are ready for that, we will find out together how many sessions it takes.
~ BEGIN HERE — NO OBLIGATION ~
The best way to answer this question for your situation is a conversation. A free 30-minute discovery call, no obligation — you describe what you are carrying, and I tell you honestly what I think it will take, or whether I am the right person at all.

This page describes emotional healing work and is offered for educational purposes. It is not a substitute for medical or psychiatric care, and nothing here should be taken as a reason to stop treatment you have been prescribed. If you are in acute distress or crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency service now — that needs immediate support, not a session schedule.
Anahad Healing is a somatic-emotional medicine practice based in Dwarka, New Delhi, serving clients online worldwide. Sessions available in English and Hindi.
